Power banks with AC/DC outlets are nothing new. Except, they usually come in sizes that aren’t quite compact. Simply put, if you want a portable battery that can lodge inside your pants back pocket, you’ll have to make do with charging nothing but USB devices. That changes with Omnicharge.
While it looks like any regular power bank, this thing packs a standard AC/DC outlet, allowing you to power not just laptops, but game consoles, TVs, and other appliances on the go. Granted, you’re still just limited to the battery size that can fit in the enclosure, so it probably won’t power any of those devices for much longer than an hour or two.
The Omnicharge comes in two sizes: 13,600 mAh and 20,400 mAh. Both come with a three-pronged AC/DC outlet putting out 65W and 100W respectively, along with two USB slots on the opposite side, and an OLED screen showing the charging output, remaining charge, and battery temperature. The larger model also gets two extra USB ports and an optional wireless charging pad on top, so you can simply set down a compatible device to charge it.
It comes with safety measures onboard, so it can detect the device you’re charging to feed it with optimal power while keeping tabs on the battery to help extend its life. Dimensions are 5.2 x 3.3 x 0.9 inches for the smaller model and 5 x 4.8 x 1 inches for the larger one.
An Indiegogo campaign is currently running for the Omnicharge. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $109.
