It’s not the first compact oven we’ve seen that’s capable of churning out wood-fired pizza. In fact, that’s a category that’s been growing over the last few years. Despite that, you may find the Napoli Oven just a little more interesting than the competition with its versatile design that allows you to cook pizzas using multiple fuel sources.

A tabletop pizza oven, the barebones appliance lets you cook your pizzas using wood, charcoal, and gas, so you can just hook it up to the gas pipe if you don’t have any wood or charcoal around. We know, you like to use wood-fire for your pizzas, but its compatibility with charcoal and gas means you can use this oven as a convenient way to cook a whole load of other dishes.

The Napoli Oven measures 14 x 10.5 x 21.4 inches (width x height x depth), so it’s really compact for a pizza oven, with the cooking surface measuring 12.5 x 13.5 inches (width x depth). That means, you should be able to use it to make 12-inch pizzas, as well as to accommodate 12-inch skillets when cooking other dishes. According to the outfit, the oven can reach temperatures of over 900 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point you can cook a pizza in as little as 90 seconds. And, yes, they promise that pizza will be crispy outside and tender inside, while bearing the perfect crust. No word on how long it takes to get it to that temperature using wood, although with the gas attachment, they claim to do that in under 10 minutes.

A slot on the back allows you to place either a wood tray or a gas burner, depending on what you plan to use for fuel for that cooking session, with a door above it to give you access to the wood for manual ignition. Do note, only the wood tray is included with the oven, as the gas burner is an optional accessory that you’ll have to purchase separately.

The Napoli Oven comes with a baking stone, so you can start cooking pizzas right out of the box, with insulated walls, ceiling, and floor, so it won’t be extremely hot to the touch (it might still be hot, though, so best not tempt fate). The bottom, by the way, is corrugated to ensure it doesn’t warp from being exposed to too much heat.

The size of the oven, along with its untethered operation (even in gas mode, you can just hook it up to a propane tank), means you can easily throw this in the boot of the car for taking outdoors. Its legs fold, too, which further shortens the height to seven inches. Whether you need an oven for the tailgate, the beach, or a long weekend camping in the backcountry, this thing should make for a convenient option, especially since you can fuel it using nothing but twigs and small wood you can pick up along the paths.

The Napoli Oven is available now, priced at $299.
