Ever wished you can make your home look more like a warehouse? Probably not. Just in case you’d like to give your interiors a little industrial aesthetic, though, the Seletti Export Como Wheeled Chest offers a quick way to get that done.

A three-drawer chest, the storage furniture looks like a shipping crate straight out of a warehouse that’s been set down on a wheeled pallet for moving from one part of the structure to another.  Seriously, it’s pretty ridiculous. If you appreciate pieces that can create an unconventional contrast in your living spaces, though, this unique storage item sure achieves that without being loud or obnoxious.

The Seletti Export Como Wheeled Chest takes on the familiar aesthetics of a cargo crate, combining an exposed frame with a bare wood finish and a purely utilitarian styling. They even recreated the markings typically found on a typical crate, including the symbol for fragile items (a stemmed glass), a “THIS SIDE UP” symbol, stenciled dimensions, and various other little details. Suffice to say, people are bound to wonder why you have a packing crate in the middle of the living room. Like, did you get a new shipment of illicit firearms or something?

Of course, it’s not really a shipping crate, but a three-drawer chest with a quartet of wheels, so you can easily move it around a room. That way, you can hide it in the corner when the mom is visiting and you don’t want to listen to her complain about it, then quickly drag it back out once they’ve left to go back to their abodes. The wheels look pretty big for the chest, too, ensuring you should be able to push it over thick carpets and small bumps in the house, even while carrying a hefty load.

Designed by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, the Seletti Export Como Wheeled Chest measures 47 x 22.5 x 37.5 inches, so each of those drawers should have plenty of room to accommodate a good load of stuff. While designed to look like throwaway crates, Seletti claims it’s painstakingly handcrafted with a premium build that’s designed to stand the test of time. Personally, this looks like a great way to keep folded garments in the bedroom, various items in the kitchen, and a bunch of tools in the garage. The latter sounds specifically well-suited, since the industrial appearance does lend itself to a very DIY aesthetic.

While it’s completely bare on the outside (we’re guessing it’s treated with something neutral, so it looks uncoated), the drawers come treated in a greenish hue, which, the outfit claims, should complement the warm wooden tones. Yes, the drawers are green everywhere, by the way, which creates a nice contrast that reminds you this is actually an expensive piece of storage furniture instead of a crate you can kick around mindlessly.

The Seletti Export Como Wheeled Chest is a part of a collection that combines the same industrial aesthetic with the outfit’s high-end furniture making.  It’s available now, priced at $2,400.
